The acquired knowledge of the mentors will improve practical classes

On Thursday, December 10, 2020, certificates were awarded to participants of the training of mentors in Široki Brijeg. Pilot training of mentors for practical classes of vocational school students in business entities in the West Herzegovina Canton lasted from November 30 to December 4, 2020.

This ceremony began with a speech by Jadranka Bošnjak, director of the Institute for Education, who pointed out how important the effects and results of this training are for mentors and students because students need quality practical training to acquire all the competencies needed to work in the profession. One of the trainers of this training, Enisa Gološ, stated that employers recognize the positive features of learning, and the training program itself.

The award ceremony was also attended by the Prime Minister of the West Herzegovina Canton, Zdenko Cosic, who stressed the importance of the cooperation between the business and education sectors, and that we need to develop vocational education and training that will be focused on quality and efficiency.

At the end of this ceremony, the Project Manager of the Foundation Helvetas Moja Budućnost, Sven Dominković, addressed the participants. He pointed out that active work should be done to improve communication between the public and private sectors and to enable the introduction of more efficient practical classes as an inevitable element during secondary vocational education. He added that FHMB strives to help young people in BiH through various employment and training programs.
