Work meeting of Chambers of Commerce held in Konjic

On August 31, and September 1, 2020, a working meeting of cantonal chambers of commerce was held in Konjic, which was organized with the aim of planning activities to improve adult education for the needs of the labor market in BiH, also experiences in improving practical teaching in secondary vocational schools were exchanged. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Sarajevo Canton, the Chamber of Commerce of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and the Cantonal Chamber of Commerce Tuzla, while the director of the Education Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska presented experiences in adult education in this center. Also, the meeting was used to exchange experiences in the field of adult education in Serbia, which was presented through the activities of the Education Center of the Chamber of Commerce, and ways of financing by the employment service.

The participants of the meeting concluded that it is necessary to improve the quality system of adult education for the needs of the economy. This primarily refers to four key areas: labor market needs research, training preparation and implementation, and evaluation. Bearing in mind that Chambers of Commerce are closest to companies and that their jurisdictions are defined by the laws on adult education, the Foundation Helvetas Moja Buducnost will, in the upcoming period, define steps to improve the capacity of the Chamber System for adult training for companies in BiH.
