Three webinars on Practical classes for economy subjects were held

Foundation Helvetas Moja Budućnost organized on May 20 and 22, 2020 three webinars: “Practical classes of the economic subjects in the West Herzegovina Canton, with a focus on the City of Široki Brijeg – analysis of educational policies and the situation on the ground”, “Practical classes of the economic subjects in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, with a focus on Konjic and Čitluk – analysis of educational policies and the situation on the ground” and “Practical classes of the economic subjects in the Republic of Srpska, with a focus on the City of Trebinje – analysis of educational policies and the situation on the ground”, with the aim of presenting the results of the Analysis, done by researchers Nina Branković and Sabina Krupić, for the needs of the project.

Given the growing need to promote various forms of “learning through work”, this Analysis will contribute to an overview of educational policies and the situation in the target area through the prism of recommendations from the EU and the International Labour Organization in this regard. The aim of the Analysis is to offer recommendations that, if applied, could contribute to a more adequate organization and implementation of practical classes in schools and economic subjects.

The main topics discussed were:

  1. Ensuring quality and effective practical training – recommendations of the EU and the International Labour Organization;
  2. Review of existing educational policies regarding the implementation of practical classes;
  3. Overview of the situation on the ground, with a focus on Široki Brijeg, Konjic, Čitluk, and Trebinje.

The webinars were attended by over 30 representatives of relevant ministries and other government institutions, companies, chambers, associations of employers/entrepreneurs, schools, city administrations and other participants in the process at targeted local levels.

Foundation Helvetas Moja Budućnost with its local partners continues to intervene in the target area, taking into account the recommendations arising from the discussions and supporting local solutions.
